Mission
With a mission of promoting scientific and technical collaboration in the CBRN field, the CBRN Office will focus its operations on three primary areas of work: Technical and social research, Technical capacity building and and Professional development. Through the development, facilitation, and implementation of impactful programming, the CBRN Office will work with national, regional, and international partners from government and non-governmental organizations to promote research and best practices in CBRN security, safety, and risk mitigation.

The Radiation Measurement Cross Calibration (RMCC)
The Radiation Measurement Cross Calibration (RMCC) project was established in 2002 with a view to improve and develop regional standards for laboratory analytical radiation measurement capabilities in the Arab world. Detecting the presence of radioactive sources, preventing the illicit use of radiological materials, responding to accidental radiation releases, and disposing of radioactive sources safely are common concerns in the Middle East.

The CBRN Threat Office will focus on conducting original research. The office will expand on its existing research expertise in security culture and human reliability to explore further themes. These research projects will be implemented in collaboration with academic institutions and research centers. The office will be also a platform to host visiting scholars, researchers, and interns for research purposes.
